What the heck is a “Social T-Rex ™ “. Think about this; no one alive has ever seen a T-Rex, yet everyone knows who he is, his reputation and when you hear his name, you get an automatic visual.
So how do you become a “Social T-Rex™”? Not in terms of extinction, but in preservation. Here are 5 suggestions:
1. Be Big: Create a “big” image of yourself. Recruiters are naturally social creatures; use your tools to build your image.
2. Be Bold: There are many “new frontiers” in recruiting; Blogs|Homepages|LinkedIn|Twitter|Facebook|MySpace|YouTube and many other social networks & media. Attack these new frontiers with hunger.
3. Be remembered: Attempt to do something everyday that leaves a big and lasting footprint.
4. Be powerful: You are a resource of knowledge, so be a powerful resource. Become the person that candidates, clients, friends and others turn to you for suggestions and names.
5. Don’t become extinct: Stay ahead of the curve. Learn about trends (emerging, new and time tested).
